I will always view items that schools require me to do that takes me away from the classroom and my students as negative - paperwork and pressure to get things done ASAP even if the deadline is months away. There is a lot of allowance for teachers to just be teachers and make teaching educational, fun and adaptive to students in ways that are often restricted in a regular school. There are a lot of resources provided for students and staff (sometimes a bit too much), and you're allowed to use your own/known resources for students. I like the flexibility and ability to teach my students how they need and not what someone else says. ![]() Like with any position always negative and positive elements to a workplace. But I absolutely love working with 1:1 element of Epic and cannot speak for the BLC. I am teaching in the Epic 1:1 position not their BLC sits- I do not know anything about working at the site. Maybe a first year teacher would be best in this situation. This is just not the best situation for anyone with experience. What they aren't telling the new hires is that if you don't find enough students to pay for their guarantee they take it out of your bonus next year and you could end up making even less than you are making this year. The pay was low enough but then they decided to go with the monthly "gurantee" for new hires. What do you think estimated this salary based on data from 1 employees, users and past and present job ads. It's impossible to fix a 15 year old who hasn't been working well in school all of his childhood, but the people at Epic expect miracles or they cut you.
